AS/A Level Photography

  • Graig Campus
AS - 1 Year / Full A Level - 2 Years

This photography A level is a two year programme which focuses on developing a broad understanding of the subject. The programme aims for every learner to develop their own unique voices using visual imagery, applying technical and contextual understanding confidently to realise their creative ambition. Learners are encouraged to explore individual interests and ideas over a range of genres through the development of sketchbooks to record their progress.

If you have an interest in capturing a moment, exploring your environment or just taking exciting artistic photographs this course will investigate these themes. The course will look at why photography is important as a visual medium, its historic and artistic context as well as how you can develop it as a visual tool to create art. We study composition, lighting, camera techniques, Adobe Photoshop, artistic manipulation and independent learning. Progression to foundation and degree courses is common both in photography, design and fine art.
