Introduction

At Coleg Sir Gar & Coleg Ceredigion, we believe in the power of collaboration to foster innovation, sustainability, and excellence in education. Our International Strategy is a testament to our commitment to not just educating the next generation of leaders, but also contributing positively to global education, economy, and environmental sustainability.

Our mission goes beyond the classroom — it’s about creating a vibrant, interconnected global learning community. In collaboration with Colleges Wales International, Global Wales and Taith, we actively seek partnerships with educational institutions, industries, and organisations worldwide to:

  • Share Best Practices By collaborating with global partners, we bring diverse perspectives and teaching methodologies to the forefront, enriching the learning experience for all.
  • Foster Innovation - Joint research projects and initiatives provide an inspirational environment for groundbreaking ideas and innovations, solving real-world problems.
  • Expand Opportunities - These partnerships open up new pathways for student and staff excursions, ensuring that our community benefits from a truly global education.
  • Empowering Educators - Equipping our educators with the tools and knowledge to inspire and engage students, preparing them for a rapidly changing world.

Sustainability is not just a part of our curriculum; it’s woven into the fabric of our operations and initiatives. We’re committed to implementing eco-friendly practices across our campuses and encouraging our community to actively participate in sustainability efforts. We support research projects focused on environmental sustainability, aiming to contribute valuable insights and solutions to global challenges.

Our vision extends to sharing our educational model and expertise on a global scale through export projects. These initiatives aim to tailor our successful educational programmes to meet the needs of diverse populations around the world. We also offer our expertise to help develop educational institutions and systems internationally, promoting quality education for all.

“Following recent learner visits to various countries across the world, I have been truly inspired by their experience and greater appreciation of different cultures. The college’s international strategy sets a direction for our international work, how we engage with the wider world  and share best practice. It will provide opportunities to widen our connections for both learner and staff exchange programmes. Commercial work will feature in our international portfolio but above all we look forward to working with a range of global partners to achieve our goals.” Dr Andrew Cornish - Principal & CEO
