Join our Ambassador Scholarship programme and you can boost your leadership skills and make your future applications stand out from the crowd whilst supporting the college and representing your course.

Who should apply?
An ideal candidate is a confident communicator who is ready to commit to contributing to college life and has previous experience of helping out their community at their school/club etc.

As an ambassador, you will promote and represent Coleg Sir Gâr and Coleg Ceredigion both inside and outside the college. You’ll highlight your specific area of study, letting others know what your course is like and what the college experience is all about.
You’ll help out at key events including:
- Open Evenings
- Prize Giving events
- Parent Evenings
- Partner School Taster Days
- Year 11 Talks at Partner Schools
- Welcoming important guests to Coleg Sir Gâr
As an ambassador you’ll be accountable to key college staff members including:
- Campus Directors
- Directors of Curriculum
- Director of Recruitment, Progression, and Partnerships
- Marketing Manager

- Active Community Involvement: Demonstrated participation in school or community activities.
- Strong Communication Skills: Confident and competent in both online and in-person presentations.
- Commitment to College Events: Availability to support various college events throughout the year, including evenings.
- Leadership Potential: Proven ability to take initiative and lead peers in different settings.
- Positive Attitude: Willingness to represent the college with enthusiasm and professionalism.

- Duration: One year (January to December). If you’re in a one-year course, your term will be from January to July, with financial assistance of £50.
- Application process: To become an ambassador, you’ll need to submit an application in October. If shortlisted, you’ll be invited to a group interview workshop. During this workshop, you’ll participate in various activities designed to showcase your communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. All the information gathered during this process will help us make our final selection. Applicants will be contacted by email in December, after workshops have been completed on all campuses.
