Agricultural Engineering Level 3 (College Course)

This two year course provides training and development needed for students with a keen interest in agricultural engineering who wish to progress into an industry related work placement or higher education. It covers a broad base of agricultural engineering and although practically orientated, also focuses on the theory behind the engineering technologies involved in the agricultural industry, particularly as applied to the design, manufacture and service requirements of agricultural tractors and field machinery.

What you will learn
The programme is a full-time, level three course which is equivalent to A-level standard.
Year 1 - 90 credits
Year 2 - 180 credits
As part of the programme, learners will also study towards the Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales qualification.

Successful completion of the extended diploma will qualify students for entry onto industry related work placements and higher education level courses in related subjects.
Assessment is based on coursework assignments, end of module tests, verbal and written questioning and workshop practical assessments.
This qualification is available to be assessed through the medium of English only.
Five GCSEs at grades A* - C (to include maths, English, science, or Welsh) or a level two diploma qualification at Merit or Distinction in a relevant subject plus one GCSE at A* - C in either Mathematics, Welsh or English.
All learners are required to pay an administration fee of £25 prior to enrolment.
Learners will be required to purchase PPE including safety boots, overalls and safety glasses prior to the start of the course.
You will need to provide your own stationery and may also incur costs if the department arranges educational visits.
