Welding is an essential process that brings together craftsmanship and the precision of engineering and evening classes are ideal for anyone wanting to develop their welding skills.
They are aimed at level one (beginners) and level two (developing skills) in either Arc or MIG or TIG welding.
They are ideal for hobbyists and those in the trade, to further develop welding skills and achieve a City and Guilds certificate.
Candidates normally follow one process at one level for the year, completing a number of practical assessments and series of oral knowledge questions.

What you will learn
Choose Arc, MIG or TIG welding and have time to develop your skills in well equipped workshops with advice and guidance from a well qualified instructor. Once the standard for assessment is reached, complete the test pieces for assessment, building these up to complete the full award.
Candidates follow the City and Guilds 3268 suite of qualifications giving bitesize areas for development which are ideal to develop welding skills.
Progression could be up the levels or you could try a different welding process.
Candidates complete a series of practical assessments and oral knowledge questions to satisfy the criteria for the qualification.
There are no entry requirements for the level 1 programme but candidates must demonstrate sufficient skills for the level 2 course. Guidance will be given when you start the course.
The course fees are £320.
