Mechanical Engineering - Enhanced Programme Level 3 (College Course)

Mechanical engineering is a diverse and dynamic field that encompasses the design, analysis, and manufacturing of mechanical systems and devices. This mechanical engineering course is a one year full-time college course incorporating work placement within the industry.

The EAL level 3 49 credit engineering Subsidiary Diploma forms the first year of the full 149 credit Technical Extended Diploma (for full time progression) or the 99 credit Extended Diploma (for part-time, apprentice progression). Practical skills are developed using a full EAL level 2 64 credit Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) NVQ diploma. Included in this enhanced learning programme are essential skills units where applicable.

Successful completion of the programme will provide skills enabling progression onto an employed status apprenticeship, or the full time level three Technical Extended Diploma.

All units are  assessed via exams, tests, assignments and practical activities.

This qualification is available to be assessed through the medium of English only.

Five GCSEs grades at A* - C to include mathematics and English/Welsh first language.

Successful interview showing motivation and commitment to the programme.

Aptitude test /initial assessment.

All engineering full-time courses which include mechanical, electrical/electronic/fabrication and welding and motor vehicle, are fully funded. 

The learner will also be required to provide their own stationery and basic classroom equipment appropriate to their course (eg pens and a calculator). 

All learners are required to pay an administration fee of £25 prior to enrolment.
