What you will learn

The Solid Plastering apprenticeship includes mandatory elements such as qualifications, essential skills, and a mix of on-the-job and off-the-job training. The programme ensures that learners gain core skills and knowledge, work safely, manage time effectively, and understand health and safety regulations. Successful completion allows apprentices to apply for a CSCS Advanced Craft Card, which is a recognised qualification within the industry.

The programme covers qualifications in Solid Plastering, essential skills in communic tion and numeracy, and both on-the-job and off-the-job training. The minimum credit value for the Level 3 Pathway in Solid Plastering is 118 credits. Apprentices will gain hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge necessary to perform their job competently.

Upon completion, apprentices can progress to supervisory or managerial roles or continue their education with a Higher-Level Apprenticeship. They may also apply for the CSCS Advanced Craft Card, enhancing their employment opportunities within the construction industry.

Assessment methods include a combination of practical demonstrations, written assignments, and on-site evaluations to ensure apprentices meet the required standards and competencies in solid plastering.

Applicants must be 16+ and currently employed in the trade. They should have completed the Foundation or Progression in Construction Qualifications, or hold a Level 2 or 3 Certificate/Diploma in the relevant trade. Alternatively, verifiable employment in the trade for three years or more may suffice. Additional qualifications like the Welsh Baccalaureate or GCSEs in relevant subjects are also considered. GCSE grades D or above in a communication based subject, numerical based subject and technical based subject.
