Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS) are widely considered to be vital in supporting the low carbon transition, including managing renewal generation, supporting networks and helping decarbonise transportation. This course examines the design, modelling and installation of stationary EESS within the wider context of decarbonisation and flexibility.

Programme Description

Learner must reside legally in Wales and be aged 19 years old or over.

In addition, individuals must be:

  • employed (including Agency and Zero-hours contracts) or

  • self-employed or

  • full-time carers (incl. non-paid)

There is no funding wage cap for this course.

This course has been designed in conjunction with MCS in accordance with the IET Code of Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Systems and the MCS Battery Standard MIS 3012.

This course is designed for electrical engineers, designers, technicians, consultants and electricians.

The course is specifically aimed at existing practising electricians, electrical technicians, and engineers with experience of electrical installations, and associated inspection and testing and giving them the necessary training to upskill their existing skills to install EESS.
