The level three diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) for Wales and Northern Ireland (QCF) has been designed for learners who are employed in a care setting.
This will provide evidence of the learner’s competence in roles and responsibilities relating to the care of children and young people.

- Option Units will be selected as relevant to the learner’s work setting.
This course is provided as a statutory requirement for progression within the care sector for all staff.
The overall grade for the qualification is a pass. To pass any unit the learner must achieve all the specified learning outcomes and satisfy all the assessment criteria by providing sufficient and valid evidence for each criteria in a portfolio.
The award will be assessed by a college based assessor using a variety of different methods including direct observations in the workplace, written reflective accounts, professional discussion, questions and answers, expert witness testimony and evidence of recognition of prior learning.
This qualification is available to be assessed through the medium of Welsh and English.
No formal qualifications required but learners will need to be working at level 3 in a health and social care setting and have the support from their employer to complete the award.
