Health and Social Care - Adults/Children and Young People Level 3 (College Course)

This is a part time work based learning course at level three where the learner is earning while learning.
The programme is aimed at learners over the age of 18 currently working in the health and social care sector in roles such as a social care worker, healthcare support worker or healthcare assistant.
The programme is ideally suited to employees who have some element of responsibility within their job role. The learner will be employed and will attend college on a regular basis.

What you will learn
All learners will be supported by an assessor who will monitor progress towards achieving targets on a regular basis.
They will liaise closely with the employer to ensure that qualifications are achieved within the timescale and will assess the learner in the workplace as and when required.
Learners following this course will have to achieve a framework of qualifications which will include:
Level 2 Health and Social Care Core (with Adults or Children and Young People or a combined route)
Level 3 Health and Social Care Practice (with Adults or Children and Young People)
This course will cover content which can be sensitive and triggering for some students. Topics such as abuse, safeguarding, mental health and addiction are all covered with some areas being taught in more detail than others.
Learners will attend taught sessions either online or in the classroom, to cover the level two core content.
The core is assessed through an online exam.
The practice is assessed through coursework, assignments, work based observations and work based evidence.
This qualification is available to be assessed through the medium of Welsh and English.
There are no formal entry requirements however applicants must be in paid employment in the health and social care sector with a contract of at least 16 hours a week.
