What you will learn
The programme includes practical, employer-driven assessments and core units designed to build a strong foundation in HR at Level 3, advancing to strategic people management skills at Level 5. Learners engage with real-life scenarios and gain insights based on the CIPD’s Profession Map. Both levels offer bilingual delivery, ensuring accessibility. The qualifications are criterion-referenced, with progression opportunities to Level 7 advanced diplomas. Essential Skills Wales requirements are integrated, with optional costs for CIPD membership and textbooks.
Level 3 covers Business Culture, Core Behaviours, Analytics, and Essentials of People Practice. Level 5 extends this with Organisational Performance, Evidence-based Practice, Professional Behaviours, Employment Relationship Management, Talent Management, and Reward Systems, plus an additional specialist unit in Employment Law.
Successful completion of the Level 3 Certificate leads to the Level 5 Diploma, which can further advance to the CIPD Level 7 qualifications. Career progression includes roles such as HR Manager, People Development Specialist, or advancing into strategic management positions.
Assessment is based on written assignments and practical scenarios relevant to current HR practices. There are no exams; evaluations are criterion-referenced and focus on real-world application.
Applicants must be 18 or over, employed, and living in Wales. For Level 3, an interview assesses suitability and literacy/numeracy skills, with a digital literacy level 2 qualification required. For Level 5, applicants should ideally hold the Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience, with similar entry requirements for literacy and numeracy.
While the apprenticeship is generally funded, learners are responsible for additional costs including CIPD membership (£98 per year plus a £40 joining fee) and optional textbooks. Ensure budgeting for these expenses, which are not covered by the apprenticeship funding.
