Around 30 Coleg Sir Gâr Rugby Academy players have returned from what some students are describing as a ‘once in a lifetime’ tour of South Africa.

Staff from Carmarthenshire County Council’s ICT services team gave a talk to Coleg Sir Gâr computing students about their work to inspire them to think about their future careers including apprenticeships.

Rachel Evans graduated from Coleg Sir Gâr with a first-class honours degree in applied computing and has worked for companies which include Facebook, Paramount Studios, Walmart, Apple, Tesla, Shell and British Airways.

The A-Level students of Coleg Sir Gȃr are once again celebrating their achievements on results day, marking another year of academic success. The 2024 results have been particularly impressive, with many students achieving excellent grades and securing places at universities across the country. The hard work and dedication of both students and staff have paid off, with numerous success stories emerging from various subjects.

Gwendoline has had a busy two years at Coleg Sir Gȃr, studying five subjects, and has achieved top grades in maths, further maths, chemistry, business and politics finishing with an A*, A, A, B and B.

Engineering and computing students at Coleg Sir Gâr have taken part in an overseas educational visit to Croatia where they visited the biggest skills competition in southeast Europe.
