This creative enterprise professional diploma is a programme designed to develop entrepreneurial skills particularly targeted at the creative media industries.
This University of the Arts London (UAL) Awarding body course has been designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to develop their careers as entrepreneurs. This qualification will provide students with an opportunity to cultivate their employability by developing their creative enterprise skills, expanding their industry contact base while developing their start-up projects and professional practice.
This qualification is suitable for students who have an interest in starting up their own projects or company and wish to explore and extend their creative practice via a full-time or part-time immersive learning experience. The qualification can be used as a starting point for students who have identified a specific project that they wish to work on or to enable them to explore the basis of entrepreneurial activity by developing essential business and management skills in order to identify and respond to business opportunities in their chosen industry.

What you will learn
The qualification is also appropriate for students wishing to continue their education through applied learning, by locating that learning within a professional context in which they can work alongside industry experts to gain first-hand industry experience. The objectives of this qualification are to give students the opportunity to:
- Develop and demonstrate enterprise and entrepreneurial skills necessary to their chosen industry
- Develop and define their enterprise ambitions and creative ideas
- Build up their professional practice and independently initiate their creative project
- Achieve a nationally recognised level four qualification
The programme will allow students to demonstrate:
Initiative, Independent inquiry, Creative thinking, Project management, Reflective learning, Team-working, Self-management, Effective participation, Problem solving, Communication and Numeracy.
Students must successfully complete the formative units, Units 1 and 2, before moving onto the summative unit, Unit 3.
The overall grade is determined by the student’s achievement in Unit 3.

Students will have the skills and understanding needed to progress to employment or self-employment.
Those completing this qualification may set up their own company, become a freelancer or progress directly into employment within their chosen industry.
The qualification will support students to develop a portfolio of work, enabling them to progress to higher education courses or conservatoires to complete level five and level six qualifications.
You will be assessed on your coursework and there are no exams or tests.
The assessed outcomes will take the form of a portfolio of work which includes the creation of a business plan and model with a full financial breakdown.
We will accept A-levels or level three diplomas or a relevant apprenticeship as well as relevant industry experience.
We also recommend that students have GCSE grade four or grade C (or an equivalent level two qualification) in both English and maths.
