Since leaving Coleg Ceredigion, Tom Kynafaeces has gone from strength to strength.

With a keen interest in cars, Tom decided to study the motor vehicle level two course at the college’s Cardigan campus before progressing onto the level three course.

Since leaving college, Tom has been working as a mechanic at Aberystwyth Car and Commercial and has been looking after fleet cars such as Scottish Power and ambulances.

Always wanting to better himself, Tom recently became a qualified MOT tester as well as starting to work with heavy goods vehicles.

Giving his reasons for choosing to study at Coleg Ceredigion, Tom said: “I chose to study at Coleg Ceredigion due to the facilities that the college and the motor vehicle department had to offer.

“The equipment and the hands on experience that they offered were important factors in my decision.

“I thoroughly enjoyed my time at college, tutors and staff were very helpful and were always there to put me on track.  They were always understanding and made the learning process as fun and entertaining as possible.”

According to automotive lecturer Anthony Goellnitz: “It’s always nice to hear about the success of students after they leave the college and Tom is no exception.

“He worked hard during his time at the college which has paid off.

“We are all proud of Toms achievements and wish him all the very best of luck in his bright career.”

Looking into the future, Tom is working on becoming a lorry mechanic.
