Students visit workshop of internationally renowned jazz guitar maker

Students from Coleg Ceredigion’s furniture department recently had a unique opportunity to step into the world of instrumental craftsmanship, visiting the workshop of renowned jazz guitar maker Jerome Duffell in Cardigan.
Jerome, renowned for his handcrafted guitars, has earned an international reputation, with musicians from across the globe seeking his bespoke instruments
He also offers a rare hands-on experience which allows customers to spend a month in his workshop, crafting their own custom guitar under his expertise.
Coleg Ceredigion furniture lecturer, Deborah Elsaesser said: “The visit left our students and team inspired by Jerome’s artistry, precision, and passion for his craft, showcasing the magic that comes from dedication and hands-on creation - all here in Cardigan.
“The visit also highlighted the immense value of learning from industry professionals and served as a reminder that world-class craftsmanship thrives locally.”
Jerome makes instruments that are played by professional music artists on Paris’ French gypsy jazz scene with clients as far as Italy, Norway and New York City.
