Coleg Ceredigion students have been immersed into the world of crime scene investigation with a special event organised by teaching staff.

Getting hands-on with practical experiences and armed with professional forensic kits, students were split into teams and given various roles whilst working in a simulated crime scene.

From analysing potential evidence such as unidentified substances and misplaced objects, to navigating the complexities of evidence collection while attired in full protective gear, students experienced first-hand the challenges and rewards of forensic investigation.

Kevin Williams, public services and business lecturer at Coleg Ceredigion said: “These activities not only provide students with a glimpse into the forensic science field but also develop essential skills such as critical thinking, teamwork, and effective communication, which are invaluable in any public service career.

“This hands-on CSI activity is just one example of the dynamic and engaging learning experiences offered on the course as we are committed to equipping our students with the knowledge, skills, and real-world experiences necessary to excel in various public service careers, from law enforcement and emergency services to environmental protection and beyond.
