Llanelli Photographic Society has been working with Coleg Sir Gâr students in a photography competition which resulted in the society presenting five awards at the college.
‘Our Carmarthenshire’ was the theme of the competition which asked participants to submit photographs that embody the county.
A-level student Chloe Lewis won first place with Grace Owen winning second and Menna Bowen winning third place. Highly commended were awarded to Kim Fulcher and Daniel Jones.
Llanelli Photographic Society has been significantly supportive recently in encouraging and offering opportunities for students who share the same aesthetic adventure.

They have invited students into their weekly sessions, provided an external judge for the competition, offer access to online specialist talks and have funded the printing of the winning photos and an Amazon gift voucher.
Kim Fulcher, A-level photography student at Coleg Sir Gâr said; “I found the experience really rewarding as I was able to get feedback on my work and meet fellow photographers.
“It was really nice to share and display my work and I’m honoured to have been chosen to be a part of it.”
Student Daniel Jones said: “It was a wonderful experience and it allowed me to push myself and gain confidence in my work.”
Simon Thomas, A-level photography lecturer at Coleg Sir Gâr added: “It’s been a fantastic experience for all our A-level photography students to collaborate with Llanelli Photographic Society.
“This has sparked some real creative talent evident today with the winners and runners up of the society’s “Our Carmarthenshire” competition.
