Coleg Sir Gâr wants to extend its thanks to Vaughan Construction for its sponsorship across all its sports academies as the college’s principal academy sponsor.

Vaughan Construction is the company of Adam Jones who played rugby for Llangennech RFC, from youth to senior level and there, he was coached by Euros Evans, who is head of all sports academies at the college and a well-revered rugby coach in his field.

By becoming the main sports academy sponsor, Adam felt as if he could ‘give back’ the positive and rewarding experience he received from Euros and his coaching support.

The college’s rugby academy recently toured parts of South Africa and Vaughan Construction was again at the helm of sponsorship support and very keenly got involved as principal sponsor for the tour.

Following such a positive partnership during that time, Adam was delighted to continue as a principal sponsor for the college’s 2024/25 season

Adam Jones from Vaughan Construction said: “I have admired the ethos of the college sports academy for many years, which aligns with my construction company ethos, building on skills.

“During my time playing rugby I experienced Euros’ first-class coaching so when an opportunity arose, I jumped at the chance to get involved.

“The facilities and coaching on offer for the players and athletes at Coleg Sir Gâr are second to none and I am excited to see all four sports academies develop throughout the season.”

The college offers academies in rugby, netball, football and the Elite Performer Programme, which tailors support for competing sportsmen and women across the whole college within their chosen sport.

Euros Evans, Adam Vaughan’s former rugby coach and currently head of all sports academies at Coleg Sir Gâr, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Vaughan Construction as the principal sponsor of our sports academies.

“Their support will not only enhance our programmes but also help us continue to nurture and develop the next generation of athletes.

“This partnership signifies a strong commitment to the community and to the continuous growth of sports at Coleg Sir Gâr.

“We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Cadog Homecare and Hygrove Homes for their ongoing sponsorship and unwavering support. Their commitment has been instrumental in helping us provide top-tier opportunities for our athletes, and we are proud to have such dedicated partners in our journey to excellence.”
