Online learner excels in animal science higher education certificate with a focus on wildlife rehabilitation
Rebecca Muncaster is an online student currently studying Coleg Sir Gâr’s online level four Animal Science Certificate of Higher Education.
She lives in Scotland but because the course is online, she can flexibly move her study schedule to fit around her current commitments and with one-to-one tutor meetings, is on target with her work.
I came across the course through an internet search, while specifically looking for a comprehensive online program offered by a reputable institution.
Among the options I found, Coleg Sir Gâr stood out as the best choice, aligning perfectly with my goals and expectations.
My primary motivation for undertaking this course was my interest in wildlife rehabilitation.
I wanted to complement the practical experience I have already gained with formal study to develop a more well-rounded understanding of the field.
The experience of learning online and with my tutors has been overwhelmingly positive thus far.
The online flexibility has allowed me to better balance work and study, and the well-structured modules are both in-depth and thoughtfully paced.
Regular one-on-one meetings with my tutor have been invaluable in providing constructive and supportive guidance, enhancing my overall learning.
What I am learning and enjoying the most is discovering how to apply my studies directly to wildlife rehabilitation. The modules I have taken so far are rich with detailed information. This combination of practical application and engaging content has made the learning experience both enjoyable and relevant.
What has positively surprised me in the course content is the inclusion of intermittent quizzes, which aptly reinforce learning. Additionally, the rich and easily accessible library resources have been an unexpected highlight.
This course has provided me with a strong foundation to pursue a variety of opportunities in the future.
This online animal science course allows students the opportunity to broaden their knowledge in the scientific principles of animal ethology, behaviour and physiology, and the application of this knowledge to animal welfare, husbandry and conservation.
The whole course is studied 100% online, can be studied part-time or full-time and students are welcomed at the college’s graduation ceremony in Carmarthenshire upon completion.
The course is currently open for 2025 January, May and September intakes.
