Martha Edwards

Martha Edwards has been studying the college’s online animal science certificate of higher education and travelled from Machynlleth to celebrate her graduation.

The certificate is a level four qualification which is studied online either full or part-time.

Martha had recently separated and was looking for a way to gain a stable career and some independence, which led her to the course.

Combining a job and bringing up two girls, she said that it was so much easier studying online as she could study when her daughters went to bed.

Martha Edwards said: “It’s been a really interesting journey and I’ve learned about so many things even insects and all types of other animals.

“Pushing myself outside of my comfort zone has proved to me that I can accomplish meaningful things despite the circumstances.”

This online course can lead to progression onto the college’s foundation degree in animal science or the BSc honours degree in animal behaviour and welfare.

It provides the opportunity for students wishing to study via distance learning to develop core knowledge and key skills required for undergraduates aiming to, or already working in animal related industries.
