From IT course to building robots
David Sayers has always had a keen interest in animation and chose to study an IT level three course at Coleg Ceredigion’s Cardigan campus as the qualification contained animation modules.
After graduating from college, David gained a place to study at University of Wales Trinity Saint David, were he graduated with flying colours.
Since then David has been working as a reliability and maintainability engineer, building and designing robots for Comau, a leading car manufacturer based in Birmingham.
David Sayers said: “I am grateful for all Coleg Ceredigion has done for me.
“I had wonderful tutors who made education extremely fun, something which is a rarity these days I feel.
“They also helped build my confidence, especially when in pressured situations.
“I’m also grateful as without the college, I wouldn’t be doing the job I do today as the thing that impressed my employers the most in my CV was the varied yet in-depth knowledge of computing and certain software that I learned while at college.”
Coleg Ceredigion course tutor Marion Phillips added: “David was a wonderful student to teach as he always gave his all on every occasion.
“We as a department are delighted to hear how he’s progressed since he left the college, something we were always confident that he’d do.”
