Student Dainton Harris at Welsh Youth MMA Championships

Dainton Harris, a 16-year-old student at Coleg Sir Gâr’s Ammanford campus, is excelling in the world of mixed martial arts (MMA) while studying plumbing.

On Saturday, 25th January, Dainton competed in the first-ever Welsh Youth MMA Championships, securing his place in history by becoming the first-ever Youth Featherweight MMA Welsh Champion. Demonstrating skill, determination, and tactical awareness, he stopped his opponent in the second round to claim victory.

Remarkably, Dainton has only been training in MMA for a year but has already risen to the top of his division, ranking as the number one youth featherweight in Wales. His exceptional talent and dedication have made him MMA Cymru’s top choice for any IMMAF or international competitions this year.

Training six days a week at Olympus Martial Arts in Ammanford, Dainton also gives back to the sport by helping to coach younger children, showing impressive leadership and responsibility at a young age.

His achievement marks the beginning of what promises to be a successful future in MMA.
