Coleg Ceredigion’s catering and hospitality lecturer, Huw Morgan, has once again been invited to judge at the prestigious Young Chef Young Waiter Wales event. This will be Huw’s third year serving as a judge at this globally renowned competition.

The competition will take place at Swansea.com Stadium and is open to young professionals across Wales. It offers a prime opportunity to showcase the country’s best talent, as chefs, mixologists, and waiters compete to demonstrate their skills, creativity, and passion on a grand stage.

Those competing will encounter some of Wales leading hospitality figures on the judging panel, including Huw, with the chance to build skills and make industry links in a challenging and rewarding environment. 

Huw will oversee the Restaurant Service competition, Where Wales’ top finalists will compete over two days. The top waiter, chef and mixologist will earn the chance to represent Wales at the World Final in Monaco later this year.

Huw is well-acquainted with competition success, since 2019, under his expert leadership, students from Coleg Ceredigion’s Cardigan campus have amassed an impressive 35 medals and accolades.

Reflecting on his role, Huw shared: “I am incredibly proud to be judging in this competition once again. Representing Coleg Ceredigion on the national stage and helping Wales choose its finest candidates for the world stage in Monaco is a true honour.”
