The purpose of this qualification is to equip learners with the knowledge and skills to fly an unmanned aircraft system. It is aligned to the requirements stipulated by the CAA for their General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC), and the course content will prepare learners for the CAA assessment. The qualification is also suitable for learners that already hold their GVC and are looking for additional recognition of their competency.

Programme Description

Learner must reside legally in Wales and be aged 19 years old or over.

In addition, individuals must be:

  • employed (including Agency and Zero-hours contracts) or

  • self-employed or

  • full-time carers (incl. non-paid)

There is no funding wage cap for this course.

This qualification aims to support businesses and government bodies to get the most out of unmanned aircraft system technologies. Drone Remote Pilots are required to operate in a range of industries and environments. This qualification underpins competencies required in the following job roles:

  • Drone Remote Pilots

  • Scaffolders
  • Surveyors
  • Engineers
  • Roofers
  • Emergency Services

This qualification is designed for learners who use Unmanned Aircraft for commercial or medium risk purposes in a specific industry and associated role.

After successful completion of this course learners can progress onto various other qualifications we offer.
