Programme Description

This course is designed to give learners better overall knowledge, covering componentry and basic fault finding. Learners will gain up to date training when working on LGV and PCV vehicles to enhance their understanding of modern braking systems and diagnostics.

This course will be assessed through observation with learners obtaining a Coleg Sir Gar Certificate upon completion. After completing the training, learners can describe the structure and the mode of operation of compressed air brake systems in trucks, buses and trailers. Giving learners the knowledge and confidence to carry out the testing and adjustment of compressed air brake systems and equipment as well as the resulting maintenance and repair jobs.

This course is for workshop mechanics, service technicians or engineers seeking out update training for working on LGV and PCV vehicles to enhance their understanding of modern braking systems and diagnostics.

This course could serve the learner as excellent background knowledge for further development of their skills in areas such as safety inspection or advanced diagnostics.
